So, I was going to spend Easter break with five of my friends in Tennessee. But I didn't. I was really tired, and therefore crying profusely for no apparent reason. What can I say? It's apparently the way I cope with stress and fatigue. It's rather inconvenient...
Anyway, for the good of the order (and my sanity) I chose to remain on campus for break. It was actually really nice. The campus is really quiet, which means there's hardly any lines in Chuck's (the cafeteria)! For two days, I holed up in my room (only emerging for meals and a brief trip to WalMart), ate copious amounts of chocolate, and watched the first season of Gilmore Girls. Hadn't ever seen it before. It was pretty good. I hear it goes downhill from here.
One of the five girls with whom I was going to Tennessee wasn't able to go either, because the day before break began she had been taken to the hospital and diagnosed with gastroenteritis (stomach flu). For the first day of break she was confined to her room, and I brought her food from Chuck's. Poor girl. But the next day, she was well enough to eat in Chuck's and we made a run to WalMart in a friend's car. She seems to be fine now, praise God. So we hung out together all of the weekend that I didn't lock myself away in my room, and watched some chick flicks.
All things considered, it was a lovely Easter break, even if it was rather unconventional. We're still off today, and I'm going to use it to get some work out of the way. Well, at least until the Posse gets home from Tennessee. Then there will be no working for a very long time... :)

Hey sweetie,
You and Jess run paralell lives! This week is her spring break and she and her roommate and another friend drove down to CA on Fri./Sat. to go to Disneyland. They had NO IDEA the state of CA was sooooooo long! When they got there they were exhausted and Jess said "I cried today." She also releases tension with tears. It comes with the territory of those who are blessed with deep emotion and passion. Inconvenient, yes...but the alternative (no feelings) is much worse! So give yourself grace and hang in there!
When I talked to her last night she said her roommate was dealing with yet another bout of intenstinal distress, they suspect irritable bowel syndrome. She's miserable and far, far from home. Prayers are good!
Love you, Ridgely
Hey, you did it!!!!! So sorry you were too tired to go on the short trip. Maybe next time. Have cried myself this past week to release some tension from extreme disappointments. Love Ya!
Aunt Cris
Well, Ridgely, I'm honored to run parallel lives with someone like Jess. Did they have fun at Disneyland? Thanks for your words of encouragement. I love you!
I'm sorry you've had extreme disappointments, Crispy. What's up? Shoot me an email and give me an update! I love you very much, and looking forward to being home.
Hey lovely lady,
YES, they are having a ball at Disneyland. She called yesterday to say she'd just gone on the roller coaster...not her fav, but said it was ok. She said Tomorrow Land reminded her of her Dad so she called him! I think they are going again today, and then it's the loooong drive back which will be harder this time, 'cause they know just how long it is! :)
It snowed here this morning!!! I'm soooo ready for spring.

I love how my Mom so freely shares stories with you about me :) Just kidding! I hear lots of very wonderful things about you as well. She told me to look at something on your blog and I came across your Gilmore Girls heading and was intrigued! I encourage you to hang in there, it's a great show, and it really doesn't go super down hill...I have all the seasons if you feel the need to borrow them in college (DVD's I remember make you suddenly very popular) I will totally send them to you!
Hope you're having a good back to school time, I'm feeling the sadness of letting summer go as well...I do love fall though!
